Re: Bugout kit
I see on Garys page there is a Bugout kit:
<<for an emergency situation that may arise, ie. if the bolt hole
is breached and you can't get to your equipment in the vehicle.
It can also double as an emergency bail out kit for a vehicle,
once the bolt hole is abandoned. >>
I have an alternate solution. Instead of creating special little kits <<
intended for
long term survival.>> and spending that much more money on the teams how
about setting a small locker at the end of each cryogenic tube. This locker
woulc contain the team members std backpack, web gear, and weapons. The pack
would be packed, all other gear (webbing, uniform, guns) not in the pack
could be kept in a seperate sachel. If the bolthole is crumbling around the
poor, sleepy person they could just grab the two items, and run for the
nearest exit.
Most of the items in the bugout kit duplicate the supplies in the
personal kit, those that don't are in other vehicle kits and maybe a couple
candles, some compact fishing gear (although just a couple years after a
nuclear war I'd be leery of fish), etc should be included in the personal
basic load.
It is VERY IMMPORTANT to me that gary and those that contributed
these ideas know that I think they are good ones, I am just offering
alternate approaches to the same problems. I appreciate all they have done
to keep MP alive for us to enjoy.
