Well, I doubt you could hide anything that size from all of the
Governments and Scientific organization involved.  (Greenpeace comes to
mind.)  Also, it's a HELL of a long way from Michigan!!  ("Not to worry,
men!  I know we're low on ammo, but we've sent a ship to our secret
Antarctic base, and they should be back in three months, barring storms,
high seas, pirates, typhoons or uncharted reefs, shoals, wrecks and the
Bermuda Triangle....")

And what would be it's purpose?  It's just too damn far away for a
Logistics base, think of how hard it would be moving stuff from it back
to anywhere else.  The air assets would be fairly impressive...and too
costly, IMO.  A world-Prime Base is an interesting through--and in fact,
Antarctica may be the ONLY place such a base could be built--but I just
don't see a world C&C base.  The *idea* is a nice one, but it probably
isn't realistic enough to be viable in game terms.
