Gary,

Please take no offense from my question or response - as I said it is a side point. I have heard this qouted many times but I have never found a good arguement for why its correct when you look at the physics of the problem. It is probably started as an approximation qouted to simplify the discussion and has lived on pasted the point where it was a good approximation.

Gary - I have a lot of respect for what you have done on this list and on your web page. I was curious.
