IMHO, few enemies of the MP's are going to think of the trick of using
suppresive fire against the gunner, so he looses control of the missile,
it's still a danger.
My main reason for the use of TOW's among Recon/Mars, and the
restriction of cannon to more dedicated units was that when the fighting
is over, you can rip out the TOW, put it in a shed, and then have a
normal MPV. Turreted vehicles, tracked or wheeled, just aren't that
flexible.
PS: TOWS?? Has anyone with a different time period megawhoops used
different missiles? In truth, it'd seem to me that for the time period
of the MP, the Russian version of the TOW (Sagger/Spigot), would be
easier to get. (Fewer controls on export, or at least many third world
counties to acquire them from.)
