A large number of people will be living in the manner described in the
Foxfire books. It gives perspective on the people your characters will
encounter. They are not dumb, or ignorant, nor eagerly awaiting someone to
show them how wrong/bad they have it. Ther is a good chance they can teach
the project things.
Unless you are in a "Rambo" campaign, this can be a very social game.
Also, it doesn't hurt your real world perspective to understand other
cultures. For game purposes, I highly reccomend studying at least one
relevant post-oops skill, in addition to one "combat" skill. It allows you
a greater feel for the game, and can be fun and useful.
Cooking Serve foods at games.
Eat well cheaply between games.
First Aid Know what to to when Joe Recon falls off V-150
Know what to do when you sprain ankle.
Auto Repair Con PD into allowing repair of shot up Commando Ranger
Detect gas station con job.
Judo Describe hollywood chopy socky move used on Imp
Use sholder throw on mugger.
Fire Starting Explain how Joe Recon lights fuse with rock and bayonet
Save barbecue by lighting with no fluid and one match.
Flute make/play Sneak Joe Recon into Free State as travelling musician.
Survive on street when unemployed due to
excessive gaming!
