RE: GURPS computer game?

Interplay has DROPPED SJG's portion of the engine for the game.  (source: latest news on www.io.com/sjgames).  Interplay still wants to implement the GURPS portion in a possible later game, but Steve Jackson isn't as trusting and gullible as all that.  Steve Jackson will be looking at other computer game companies for the project.

Big bummer.  I thought GURPS would be a nice system to implement on a computer (role-playing aside) (Anyone that thinks you can *remotely* 'role-play' on a computer is dreaming IMHO (thankfully, 'cause only dreams are gonna get us there)).  Anyhow, once an open-ended computer game engine is developed on the GURPS platform, all other genres will just be a supplement (add-in?) away.  That could include 'Survivors' the unreleased and undeveloped game book.
