Actually, I think an even better example would be the "You missed!"
scene.

Picture this:

You are kneeling next to a guy who is lying on the ground.  
Unconscious.  
Broken bones, massive internal injuries.  
You want to kill him.  (You have your reasons.)
Your PD is well known for invoking his infamous "Barf Rule" whenever a
character sees blood, guts and gore--CON or *less* on a d100.
You don't want to waste the next five minutes barfing.
You pull out your gun, cock it, put the muzzle against the guy's
forehead, CLOSE YOUR EYES and pull the trigger.  Bang.

"You missed!" the PD smugly declares.

You blink and stare at him.  "HOW?!?"

"You had your eyes closed!" he sneers, smirking at you like you are
retarded.  "Automatic miss!"

Of all the thoughts that come to you at a moment like this, the one that
hurts the most is the fact you paid good money to get into the Convention
just so you could actually meet this jerk....
