[mp-gg] Interesting Tech note.

CNN ran a story on it's website on Saturday about the 3-7th Cav foray into
downtown Bagdad. The basically covered the move and mentioned how the Alpha
troop went in to take on a Republican Guard tank battalion and how they
encountered twice what they were expecting. The US force was made up of all
the tanks in the troop ( number not give for security purposes I guess ) and
a pair of Bradleys. The big story was that of the 22+ T-72's they
encountered the Bradley's killed some 8 of them. Now the Bradley's pack TOWs
so that wasn't a big surprize, but the reporter said the Bradleys used their
main gun firing Depleted Uranium ammo.
It is possible that the reporter mis-IDed an M1 for a Bradley, but the
fact that there is 30mm DPU out there raises an interesting piece of
hardware for a heavy hitting MARS team to use.

I guess my question is:

Would a 25mm or 30mm DPU round kill a T-72?

How about the availability of a .50 cal DPU round? I know that back in the
80's the Olin company was developing one, ad even developing DPU rounds for
smaller calibers as well.
